How we keep our crews, your people and your site safe, and the information commercial buyers, property managers and tender panels need from a cleaning contractor.

When you bring a cleaning contractor onto your site, you share responsibility for their health and safety. Facilities and property managers, main contractors and procurement teams need to know that the crew arriving is trained, inducted and insured, and that risks are managed rather than left to chance.
This page sets out the training our crew members hold, how we manage safety on site and the insurance we carry. If you are preparing a tender or prequalifying contractors, we can provide supporting documentation on request.

SiteWise Green status
The Clean Crew holds SiteWise Green status with Site Safe NZ. SiteWise is a prequalification system that scores a contractor's health and safety competency, and main contractors and principal organisations can view our score on the SiteWise database.
Height & harness training
Crew members hold Height & Harness Level 3 certification through Fire & Safety Training, so work at height is carried out by people trained in harness use.
Mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP)
Crew members are certified with Vertical Horizonz to operate mobile elevated work platforms such as scissor lifts and self-propelled boom lifts safely.
Hazardous substances training
Crew members are trained to use, store and handle hazardous substances safely. The training is completed with Loop Health & Safety to meet regulation 4.5 of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.
First aid training
Crew members hold First Responder First Aid training with Life Care Consultants, so they know how to respond if they are first on the scene of an emergency.
Staff vetting & induction
Crew members are background-checked and complete induction training before they work on a client site.
Public liability insurance
We carry public liability and employer liability insurance. Certificates of insurance are available on request.
How we manage safety on site
Training matters, but safety is decided by what happens on each visit.
Site induction
Before starting on a new site, crew complete the client's site induction and are briefed on access, restricted areas and emergency procedures.
Standard operating procedures
Cleaning tasks follow documented procedures and site-specific instructions agreed with the client, so the work is done the same way on every visit.
Hazard identification
Hazards are identified and controlled before work begins, with job safety analyses completed for higher-risk tasks and environments.
Incident reporting
Incidents and near misses are reported, recorded and reviewed, and clients are informed of anything that affects their site.
Personal protective equipment
Crew wear the PPE required for the task and for the site, including any additional equipment specified by the client.
Chemical safety data sheets
Safety data sheets are kept for the cleaning chemicals we use, and products are stored, labelled and handled in line with them.
Insured for every job
The Clean Crew carries public liability and employer liability insurance. If your site or tender requires evidence of cover, ask us for a certificate of insurance.
